BIRMINGHAM are through to the next round of the Knockout Cup after a convincing 54-36 win at Sheffield.

The BRC Roofing Brummies hit back from the loss of Chris Kerr and Jake Anderson 24-hours earlier to book their place with a 117-61 aggregate score.

The Perry Barr side once again demonstrated their supremacy over their Yorkshire rivals with a powerful display - and the sobering fact for the home side was that the rider-replacement facilty for broken leg victim Chris Kerr brought in just two points.

Youngster Tom Perry gained more useful experience as he stood in for Anderson, who was present despite the arm injury he sustained on Wednesday.

And Steve Johnston and Justin Sedgmen were right back on top form as the Brummies took control after two shared heats at the start of the night.

SHEFFIELD: Paul Cooper 8+1, Josh Auty 8, Ricky Ashworth 7, Josef Franc 6+1, Richard Hall 3, Hugh Skidmore 2+2, Arlo Bugeja 2+1.

BIRMINGHAM: Steve Johnston 13+2, Justin Sedgmen 12+2, Richard Sweetman 12+1, Jason Lyons 8, Aaron Summers 7+1, Tom Perry 2+1, Chris Kerr r/r.
