BIRMINGHAM continued their impressive start to the season with victory at Stoke to secure the M6 Trophy against their local rivals.

Teenage reserve Justin Sedgmen turned in a sensational display with 15 (paid 17) as the BRC Roofing Brummies completed the double over the Potters having won the first leg at Perry Barr by 18-points.

With Steve Johnston and Chris Kerr also in double figures, the Brummies had too much strength and had made sure of the trophy with four races to go.

Manager Graham Drury said: "It's a really encouraging start to the season for us although nobody is getting carried away at this stage.

"But the team have gelled together immediately and we're very happy with what we've seen over the first two meetings."

STOKE 42: Jason Bunyan 14+2, Hynek Stichauer 8, Klaus Jakobsen 6, Ricky Wells 5+1, Taylor Poole 5+1, Michal Rajkowski 3, James Holder 1+1
