| | | BIRMINGHAM picked up their third Premier Trophy win of the season with a hard fought 52-41 success over Sheffield at Perry Barr.
Another bumper crowd created a great atmosphere and this clearly helped the riders as they fought hard with Sheffield offering a serious threat.
Jason Lyons - pictured - was magnificent as he dropped only one-point from his five rides... and that was at the hands of Tigers skipper Andre Compton, winner of the Alan Hunt Trophy at Perry Barr 10-days earlier.
Compton top scored for the visitors with 13 - including six-points when he took a tactical ride to keep the Steel City side in contention.
The meeting was close until two races from the end when Birmingham came good with successive race adavantages.
BIRMINGHAM: Jason Lyons 14, Ulrich Ostergaard 9, Emiliano Sanchez 8+3, Brent Werner 7+1, Aidan Collins 6+3, Ben Powell 6+3, Lee Smart 2. SHEFFIELD: Andre Compton 13, Joel Parsons 11, Ben Wilson 7, Ricky Ashworth 5+1, James Birkinshaw 4, James Cockle 1+1, Paul Cooper 0.
