BELLE VUE 58 BRUMMIES 32

Monday August 18, 2025
BIRMINGHAM’s disappointing run of results continued as they were well beaten 58-32 at reigning champions Belle Vue.

It was narrowly better than their previous outing in Manchester last month but the strength of the Aces once again proved way too much as the Curtis Sport Brummies slipped to their ninth straight defeat.

Whilst the hosts did have two 5-1s in the opening block of races, there were also a couple of early encouraging moments for the Brummies.

Sam Hagon led a 4-2 in Heat Two whilst former Belle Vue man Matej Zagar took the chequered flag in Heat Four with the score at 15-9.

Another 3-3 followed in the fifth before the Aces began to get into their real groove with a hat-trick of 4-2s moving them 30-18 ahead with eight gone.

Zagar picked up a second victory of the night in a thrilling, all-action Heat Nine - but birthday boy, and tactical substitute, Tobiasz Musielak headed back to the pits pointless despite an intense tussle with ex-Brummie Zach Cook.

Paco Castagna and Keynan Rew claimed the minor placings in a shared tenth race before the Brummies yet again endured another bitterly disappointing finish with the Aces adding three further 4-2s and two more 5-1s to their tally to run out 28 point victors.

Attentions now turn towards the final ever fixture at Perry Barr Stadium which takes place against Leicester next Monday (August 25, 7.30pm).

Tickets will still be available on the night but supporters can guarantee theirs via: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/90940
