| | | BIRMINGHAM boss Chris Adams felt his side didn’t deserve to lose Monday’s home clash with King’s Lynn.
The Curtis Sport Brummies were beaten 47-43 in what was their seventh straight defeat in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.
Another sluggish start put the Perry Barr men on the back foot straight away as they conceded two 5-1s in the opening three races.
The hosts were back on level terms by the conclusion of Heat 11 though but Heat 14 proved decisive.
Adams was forced to replace Ben Barker who was struggling with a shoulder injury sustained last week and the Brummies conceded another 5-1 which ended up being a key result with a shared race in Heat 15.
Said Adams: “It was a much better performance from the team overall and with the effort the lads put in, I don’t think we deserved to lose that one.
“We didn’t start off too well again but then from Heat Five we got going and we came on top.
“It was that Heat 14 which proved costly in the end though and it left us with too much to do in the last one sadly.
“We gave them a real run for their money and it was a real shame we couldn’t turn it around.”
The two sides meet again this Thursday (August 14, 7.30pm) at the Adrian Flux Arena in Norfolk.
BIRMINGHAM 43: Keynan Rew 12, Matej Zagar 11+1, Tobiasz Musielak 7+1, Paco Castagna 4+1, Jonas Jeppesen 4, Ben Barker 3, Sam Hagon 2+2. KING’S LYNN 47: Lewis Kerr 14+1, Richard Lawson 10+3, Chris Harris 7, Niels-Kristian Iversen 6, Jan Kvech 5+1, Nicolai Klindt 4+1, Luke Harrison 1.
