BRUMMIES 43 KING'S LYNN 47

Monday August 11, 2025
BIRMINGHAM were edged out 47-43 at home to King’s Lynn on Monday - despite initially recovering from another sluggish start.

The Curtis Sport Brummies conceded two 5-1s in the opening three races to immediately put themselves on the back foot but moved to within four again of the visitors when Keynan Rew and Paco Castagna made the gate in Heat Five for a maximum of their own.

Heat-leaders Tobiasz Musielak and Matej Zagar then led shared races before a King’s Lynn 4-2 in Heat Eight saw the Norfolk outfit move six ahead.

But a straight hat-trick of 4-2s from the hosts saw them draw back level with four races remaining.

Rew then picked up a third win on the spin when he led a shared Heat 12 before Zagar and Musielak claimed the minor placings in another 3-3 in Heat 13.

But the big blow came in the penultimate race when Paco Castagna and Sam Hagon conceded a 5-1 and that proved to be the difference when a race win for Richard Lawson in the finale was enough to secure the points for the Stars.

The two sides meet again this Thursday (August 14, 7.30pm) at the Adrian Flux Arena in Norfolk.

BIRMINGHAM 43: Keynan Rew 12, Matej Zagar 11+1, Tobiasz Musielak 7+1, Paco Castagna 4+1, Jonas Jeppesen 4, Ben Barker 3, Sam Hagon 2+2.
KING’S LYNN 47: Lewis Kerr 14+1, Richard Lawson 10+3, Chris Harris 7, Niels-Kristian Iversen 6, Jan Kvech 5+1, Nicolai Klindt 4+1, Luke Harrison 1.
