PREVIEW: BRUMMIES v SHEFFIELD

Sunday August 03, 2025
BIRMINGHAM will try to end their current losing streak when Sheffield visit Perry Barr on Monday (August 4, 7.30pm).

The Curtis Sport Brummies were beaten in all five of their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixtures in July but are keen to turn their form around with the club now entering their final month of racing.

The Second City side did put in a battling display away at Sheffield in that run though and will be now hoping to do the same in front of their own fans - especially knowing that the Tigers have lost four of their last five away outings.

Birmingham are unchanged whilst Sheffield are set to track two new signings, including former Brummie Nick Morris who is back in British Speedway after serving his two year suspension for ‘breaching a number of the SCB regulations’.

Team Manager Chris Adams is expecting another stern test against the Tigers but hopes his riders can give a good account of themselves.

“I suppose by now it’s all a little Déjà vu with our results and it’s quite obvious that we are lacking that third heat-leader,” he said.

“We need more race winners on Monday to capitalise on winning the meeting and I know our guys will do their best.”

Supporters should note that the only place to watch the action is in person at the stadium with TNT Sports broadcasting Belle Vue v Ipswich with highlights coming from King’s Lynn v Leicester. Club streaming is not permitted on these occasions and a delayed stream has proven to be financially unviable.
