| | | BIRMINGHAM captain Tobiasz Musielak described Monday’s 48-42 home defeat to Belle Vue as ‘frustrating’.
The Curtis Sport Brummies kept the reigning champions on their toes in the first half of the fixture with never any more than two points separating the two teams either way in the first half of the contest.
But between Heats Eight and 12, the visitors delivered a 4-2 and two 5-1s in what proved to be the defining spell of the meeting.
Musielak led advantages for the Brummies in Heats 13 and 15, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Perry Barr side slipping to a fifth straight league defeat.
“It was another frustrating meeting for us,” Musielak said.
“It was very close actually into the middle of the meeting and we were hoping for a good ending of the match.
“But it didn’t go the way of the plan and whilst we finished strong with Keynan in Heat 15 it was too late.”
The Brummies are back on home shale next Monday (August 4, 7.30pm) when Sheffield are the latest team to travel to Perry Barr.
BIRMINGHAM 42: Tobiasz Musielak 12+2, Keynan Rew 11, Matej Zagar 6+1, Ben Barker 4+1, Paco Castagna 4, Sam Hagon 3, Jonas Jeppesen 2+1. BELLE VUE 48: Norick Blodorn 11+1, Dan Bewley 9, Brady Kurtz 8+1, Jaimon Lidsey 8, Zach Cook 6+1, Tate Zischke 4+1, Jake Mulford 2+1.
