IPSWICH 56 BRUMMIES 34

Thursday July 24, 2025
BIRMINGHAM were well beaten 56-34 at play-off bound Ipswich on Thursday.

The Curtis Sport Brummies offered very little threat in Suffolk - with former Rising Star Jason Edwards adding further insult to injury by top scoring on his full debut for the Witches.

After a shared opening heat, the hosts took the lead with a 5-1 in the reserves’ race.

Former Ipswich man Keynan Rew then delivered the Brummies their first heat winner as he bagged a 4-2 with Jonas Jeppesen.

But that would be just one of two heat advantages all night for the Perry Barr side as the Witches then banged in back-to-back 4-2s before Matej Zagar led a shared Heat Six.

Ipswich reeled off three straight advantages between Heats Eight and Ten, establishing a 16 point lead in the process.

The Foxhall men then won four of the final five races with a Heat 13 4-2 from Tobiasz Musielak and Zagar the Brummies’ only other bit of slight joy.

Birmingham are back on home shale on Monday (July 28, 7.30pm) as they take on defending league champions Belle Vue - a team they have already beaten at Perry Barr this season.
