| | BIRMINGHAM do battle with reigning champions Belle Vue in a big Bank Holiday ROWE Motor Oil Premiership double on Easter Monday (April 21).
A total of five league points will be up for grabs across the two meetings with the Curtis Sport Brummies heading to Manchester for a 12 noon start with the return at Perry Barr getting underway at 7.30pm.
Birmingham will be aiming to get up and running having lost both of their league fixtures so far - and Belle Vue were the first team they managed to beat in 2024.
But the Aces have won three of their four Premiership contests to date and are spearheaded by Grand Prix duo Brady Kurtz and Dan Bewley with former Brummie Zach Cook also in their ranks.
Birmingham have shuffled their riding order slightly with Michael Jepsen Jensen moving to No.5 with former Belle Vue man Matej Zagar ruled out due to Visa complications.
Lewis Kerr will guest in Manchester with Dan Thompson stepping in for the home fixture with Keynan Rew also now ruled out due to food poisoning.
Team manager Chris Adams says: “It’s obviously a massive blow to be without two riders, particularly the likes of Matej and Keynan.
“Keynan has been pretty solid for us so far this season and Matej was really raring to go against his old club.
“There’s nothing at all we can do about Keynan’s food poisoning and the Visa situation with Matej is hopefully going to be fast-tracked so we just sit and wait for that to come through now.
“The rest of the lads are looking forward to two meetings in one day though and it’s going to need them all to be on it.
“Hopefully Antti (Vuolas) can get his season going properly against his old side and we’ll give it everything we’ve got to try and come away with at least two or three points.”
The first 40 children through the gates on Monday at Perry Barr will each receive a free Easter egg.
The club will also be collecting for ‘Pink For Paisleigh’ on the night. Paisleigh was just four years old when she tragically passed away in February 2023 and her family are keen to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital PICU who cared for Paisleigh during her final days.
