BIRMINGHAM Speedway Supporters' Club have voted Alfie Bowtell as their Rider of the Month for April.
The winter signing was voted for by Supporters' Club members - and was presented with his trophy by Sharon Dyer at Wednesday night's home fixture against Scunthorpe.
Bowtell kicked on even more in that meeting, top scoring with 11+2 as he was involved in each of the three Curtis Sport Brummies 5-1s and was selected for Heat 15.
Said Bowtell: "I've been fairly pleased with how I've started off my season with Birmingham.
"I could've had a few more points here and there but I can feel my confidence growing all the time.
"It's quite funny that I've won the award for April and then put in a performance like I have done against Scunthorpe in my first meeting in May but hopefully I can have many more like this between now and the end of the season."
Fans can sign up to become a member of the Birmingham Speedway Supporters' Club on racenights in the lower grandstand bar at the stadium.
