BIRMINGHAM favourite Ashley Morris has vowed to build on his return to form when they head into a busy weekend.

The Brummies, who revealed they are heading towards make or break for their future with poor attendances, head to Edinburgh in cup action on Friday and Leicester in a Championship clash on Saturday.

Morris is looking to put off-track issues aside as the impressive Brummies hit the road.

He said: "I've been struggling getting going this year with a lack of meetings and having too much time off the bike.

"But to finally just go back to basics with a set-up that I know works on a track that was much more like 2019, I felt a lot better.

"Going back to a set-up I trust and that I know gave me confidence.

"I got the night started by having to pass and then re-pass Jake Allen at home to Redcar last week and even though I missed out on the line, it started the momentum.

"After that first ride I noticed that the track was similar to how it was in 2019 and I knew with how we'd set the bike up that I could go on and have a much better night.

"You know what you're starting with, you know what you've got to do with the changes and stuff and more importantly I know how I can ride when everything's like that.

"Now it's time to build on that confidence.”

Brummies return to Perry Barr for a crunch night with Kent next Wednesday with the club owners warning the business will not be sustainable if attendance levels don’t increase with immediate effect.
