LAKESIDE 69 BRUMMIES 21

Friday April 11, 2014
Birmingham suffered their heaviest defeat of the Elite League era tonight.

The Selco Brummies managed only one heat win, from Ed Kennett, as they were blitzed by table-topping Lakeside.

Birmingham riders only beat opponents on four other occasions "“ two of those coming from Daniel Nermark "“ on a disappointing night at the Arena Essex Raceway.

Skipper Danny King and Adam Skornicki both saw tactical rides come to nothing as the home side's victory was sealed after nine heats.

Eleven of the races ended in 5-1s to Lakeside with three Hammers men "“ Davey Watt, Mikkel Bech and Lewis Bridger "“ finishing on paid maximums.

King said: "Sorry to all the Birmingham fans. This is not acceptable. You as a club deserve better and hopefully we can fix this sooner rather than later."

LAKESIDE: Davey Watt 14+1 (paid max), Mikkel Bech 13+2 (paid max), Lewis Bridger 10+2 (paid max), Peter Karlsson 9+2, Ben Morley 9+1, Richard Lawson 8+1, Adam Ellis 6+2.

BIRMINGHAM: Adam Skornicki 5, Daniel Nermark 5, Ed Kennett 5, Danny King 4, Simon Lambert 2, Benji Compton 0, Ben Barker R/R.
