| | | BRUMMIES shared the points in a Premier League thriller at Derwent Park on Saturday.
Skipper Jason Lyons had to split James Wright and Kauko Nieminen in a breathtaking last heat decider to claim the draw after the Perry Barr side went into heat 15 two-points up.
The meeting was close throughout and with four races to go Birmingham has slipped back to a two-point deficit - but they showed great character to keep their hopes alive.
And whilst they could have snatched the win, a draw was probably a fair result.
WORKINGTON: James Wright 13, Kauko Nieminen 10, Carl Stonehewer 7, Craig Branney 6+3, Charles Wright 6, John Branney 2+1, Mattia Carpanese 1. BRUMMIES: Jason Lyons 11+1, Emiliano Sanchez 8+1, Ulrich Ostergaard 8, Lee Smart 7+1, Jon Armstrong 6, Ben Powell 4+1, Aidan Collins 1+1.
