BRUMMIES GO UP FOR THE CUP!

Friday September 10, 2021
BIRMINGHAM go up for the cup tonight when they make another long trip to Edinburgh (7.30).

And boss Laurence Rogers is urging his side to put the frustrations of Wednesday night's controversial home defeat behind them and focus on keeping the score close to give them a chance of progress in the second leg at the end of the month.

He said: "As a team we have to put Wednesday behind us now and focus on the next couple of weeks.

"We've got some huge meetings coming up starting with the Knockout Cup trip to Edinburgh.

"We're going there to try and win the first leg and the boys can take some confidence from the way they rode at Armadale in the league last Friday.

"It's a shame we're without Paco (Castagna - Italian Championships) and Jack (Thomas - unavailable) down at reserve.

"But we've got Jason Edwards in and when the Brummies fans saw him at Leicester, they'll know he always gives it his all and Luke Crang can do a decent job for us too.

"As I said we're going there for the win but as long as we keep it relatively tight ahead of the second leg at the end of the month at Perry Barr then we'll be happy enough - we just want to try and make life as easy as possible."

Birmingham are without Paco Castagna who is racing in his national championship and Jack Thomas is unavailable "“ Luke Crang and Jason Edwards step in as guests.

Brummies fans not making the journey can pay to watch the meeting live on an Edinburgh live stream with full details available from their club website.
