BOWTELL JOINS BRUMMIES

Friday December 09, 2022
BIRMINGHAM now have just one team spot left to fill after Alfie Bowtell agreed to join the club from Plymouth.

The 25-year-old links up with Nick Morris, Justin Sedgmen, James Wright, Stefan Nielsen, James Pearson as the Curtis Sport Brummies near their completion for 2023.

Bowtell ended last season on the sidelines with knee ligament damage but is now well on his way back to full fitness.

The Chelmsford born racer is keen to continue his progress in the Championship and is looking to build on his last appearance in the Second City which saw him score eight points as a guest for Birmingham in the 46-44 Jubilee League victory over Oxford in July.

Team Manager Laurence Rogers said: "Alfie is a rider who always gives 110 per cent when he's out there and he never gives up and never stops trying.

"He had a few meetings at Perry Barr last season and, particularly when he rode for us, we were impressed.

"Alfie has made some pretty good progress with Plymouth over the past couple of seasons and this year especially, he showed some really good form in the main body of their team.

"We're confident and Alfie is confident he can kick on even further at a track he enjoys riding even more and he's a really good person to have around the club as well."
