BIRMINGHAM aim to go out with a bang when they host Berwick in their final league fixture of the season on Wednesday (August 10, 7.30).

It’s been a tough old season for the Curtis Sport Brummies who have been plagued by injuries – and still only have two of their own riders fit for selection.

Justin Sedgmen and James Pearson will line-up for the Perry Barr outfit with former Brummies’ favourites Paco Castagna and Paul Starke also back as guest bookings.

After impressing at Poole and Plymouth Lee Complin has earnt another call-up at reserve – this will be his first in front of the home faithful however.

Meanwhile Edinburgh’s Kye Thomson continues his run of appearances for the Second City side.

Berwick include two ex-Birmingham riders who are in breathtaking form right now.

Three-time British Champion Chris Harris has been tearing it up wherever he goes, providing plenty of entertainment for the supporters with a whole host of sensational passes.

Meanwhile, the recently crowned British Under-19 Champion Leon Flint, who started his senior career with the Brummies, is hot off his first Championship maximum for the Bandits last weekend, and also scored 9+3 in the Premiership on Monday night.

Team boss Laurence Rogers said: “The season is far from done at Perry Barr as we still have a number of national championships and challenge fixtures to come but what an end to the league campaign this promises to be.

“I think there are two good sides on display, there’s some true racers in both teams and I think it’s going to be a belting night of Speedway.

“There’s no doubt about it it’s been a cruel, cruel campaign for the Brummies – but we want to go out with a bang and we want to end on a high with a win for our supporters!”
