BIRMINGHAM were beaten 50-40 in the Championship at Redcar on Friday.

It was a much improved display on the road for the Curtis Sport Brummies who played their part in a competitive contest on Teesside.

They were actually leading by a couple of points with eight heats gone, but the hosts were able to turn things around in the second half of the meeting to send Laurence Rogers’ side back to the West Midlands with nothing to show for their efforts.

The Brummies are back at Perry Barr on Wednesday (April 20, 7.30) when they host Berwick - and the club will pay tribute to Midlands based broadcaster Nigel Pearson who sadly passed away on Friday at the age of 52.
