BIRMINGHAM have wasted little time in turning their attentions to 2020 - and have moved quickly to bring Jason Garrity back to the club.

The former British Under-19 Champion won plenty of new fans at Perry Barr after signing for the Edwards Plumbing Brummies in July.

He scored 78 points in nine appearances and wowed supporters on several occasions with his all-action style.

Whilst the rules and regulations won’t be decided until next month, team boss Laurence Rogers says it was always one of their priorities to get Garrity back on board.

“What Speedway fans appreciate, particularly at Birmingham, is effort,” Rogers said.

“If they can see you’re trying and that you’re giving it your all, even if you do finish at the back for whatever reason, they’ll stick with you and get behind you.

“That’s exactly what they saw from Jason but it was mainly first and second places he was registering more often than not thankfully!

“You are guaranteed total effort and commitment from the moment those tapes rise and he will never give up until those four laps are over.

“He’s a real crowd pleaser and the Birmingham supporters took to him straight away.

“We’re delighted to have him back for a full season with us in 2020 and we’re predicting a big year for Jason.”
