BIRMINGHAM will again be without two of their top riders for Wednesday’s trip to Somerset (7.30).

Tero Aarnio and Ashley Morris will both miss a second successive fixture for the Edwards Plumbing Brummies through injury.

Team Boss Laurence Rogers explained: “Tero rode with a chipped bone in his hand at Belle Vue on Monday and had to take a trip back to the hospital after a crash there.

“As for Ash we were hoping we’d know a bit more by now – but his situation is still pretty hazy to be honest.”
Brummies hand another guest booking to Swindon and Leicester racer Ellis Perks with rider replacement operating for Aarnio.

It’s a second visit of the year to the Oak Tree Arena for Birmingham who lost 52-38 there in the Championship Shield in April.
“We may have lost at Somerset once already this season – but we’ve made several team changes since then,” Rogers said.

“We know what Adam (Ellis) is capable of, Paco (Castagna) has picked up even more since his last visit, Shanesie (James Shanes) can go well there and there’s no reason why Danyon (Hume) and Nick (Agertoft) can’t chip in with some points too.

“It’s going to be far from easy but the boys will give it their best shot as always.”

SOMERSET: Rory Schlein, Todd Kurtz, Valentin Grobauer, Ben Barker, Chris Harris, Anders Rowe, Henry Atkins.
BIRMINGHAM: Adam Ellis, Nick Agertoft, Paco Castagna, Ellis Perks, Tero Aarnio, Danyon Hume, James Shanes.
