BIRMINGHAM have confirmed they will again be entering a team into the 2019 Midland Development League.

The Bulls will be back on track and will be skippered by 2018 Rider of the Year Rachel Hellowell.

Arran Butcher, who had a spell in the National League with the Brummies last season, is also included and has signed as a full club asset.

Local cousins Bailey and Jacob Fellows have also agreed to join with two squad places left to fill.

Team boss Laurence Rogers said: “We had some great fun in the MDL last season and even though the Brummies are moving into the Championship, as a promotion we were all keen to keep that level of racing as an additional attraction.

“Not only does it mean the supporters on the terraces get more for their money but as we saw with one or two of the riders last season, it’s a platform for them to make some progression.

“We’re delighted to have Rachel back for another year; she’s got an infectious smile that rubs off on everyone in the pits and she just loves going out there and getting some laps under her belt.

“Arran suffered with some confidence issues during his National League days with us, but he put in some good performances for Stoke towards the back end of last year and we’re confident he can kick on as part of the Bulls team this season.

“We wanted to add a youngster to our asset base and we’re hopeful Arran can develop as part of our club in a more relaxed environment.

“As for Jacob and Bailey they’re both local boys which is always good for the supporters and 2019 is going to be a big year for them both as they look to make some serious strides on the shale.”

In other news, Milton Keynes Knights will also be operating from Perry Barr once again.
