EXCITING prospect Dan Gilkes hopes to make a good impression on his full Perry Barr debut tonight (Wednesday, 7.30).

The 16-year-old will line-up for the Edwards Plumbing Brummies as they take on Wolves and Heathens Select sides in a special three-team tournament in Birmingham’s home season finale.

"Since my exams finished I’ve done two full meetings at National League standard," Gilkes said.

"I scored 11+1 in a challenge between Kent and Lakeside and then I came away with a third from Kent’s Laurels individual.

“So those two meetings have given me a bit of a boost to be honest but more importantly I learnt plenty which can only be a benefit to me.

“Looking at the line-up at Birmingham it’s a really good field of riders and it’s going to be another good test."

Dan Greenwood has since pulled out the meeting; Buxton captain Tom Woolley will take his place in the Wolves Select team.

There will be a special autograph session between 6.15 and 6.45 with Mitchell Davey, Tom Bacon, Danyon Hume and Callum Walker, all of whom raced for the Brummies this year before injuries cut their season short, as well as Layne Cupitt who quit the sport due to personal reasons.

The pits will also be open to supporters until 6.55 with photo opportunities available with the competing riders.

Admission is £13 adults, concessions and students £12, juniors (12-16) £3, with Children 11 and Under being admitted FREE of charge. Supporters should note that season tickets are NOT valid, but holders can receive £1 off their programme price if they bring it with them.
