FORMER title winner Adam Ellis can't wait to get back to Perry Barr tonight (Wednesday, 7.30).

The British talent will be back in Brummies’ colours for one night only later when Birmingham host a special Inter-League Challenge against Championship side Peterborough.

Said Ellis: “It’s a place I haven’t been to for a while now and it’s a place where I really enjoyed myself.

“Winning trophies like the National League and the Fours was an awesome feeling and I can’t tell you how much it meant to me to do that – especially for the club as well because they’d had a tough time the year before.

“I’ve come a long way since I rode for Birmingham and like I say it’s good to be going back there.

“For me it’s one of the best tracks in the country and with the riders they’ve got in the two teams, it should be one of the best meetings for a long time; I think the fans are in for a treat.”

American International Ricky Wells replaces Sam Masters in the Birmingham line-up due to 'visa restrictions' while Workington's Mason Campton comes in for David Howe for Peterborough.

There will be an autograph session with Ellis, James Shanes, Ben Barker and Paul Starke in the Lower Main Grandstand Bar between 6.15 and 6.45 and there will also be interval entertainment for junior supporters as well as a collection for Brummies captain and Peterborough reserve Tom Bacon who suffered a burst fracture of his L2 vertebrae over the weekend.

Our friends from Birmingham Monarchs Cycle Speedway Club will be doing demonstration laps before the meeting and during the interval, and the second half will feature demonstration races using Formula 2 machinery.

Gates open at 6.15 with admission prices at £16 adults, concessions and students (ID must be provided), £5.00 juniors (11-16) and just £1 for children aged 10 and under.

Souvenir programmes will be available for £3.00 with concessions and Birmingham Speedway Season Ticket Holders (season ticket must be shown) entitled to £1.00 off.
