INJURED Birmingham skipper Mitchell Davey will return to Perry Barr on Wednesday for the first time since his horror crash.

The 28-year-old will be guest of honour for the Edwards Plumbing Brummies’ National League clash against reigning Champions Belle Vue.

Davey is bringing a bike along with him – but for photo opportunities only where he will also sign autographs between 6.15 and 7pm on the main terraces.

Said Davey: “I’m really excited to get back to Birmingham and see everyone to be honest.

“First and foremost I want to thank as many people as possible for the money they raised for me during the collection they had. The amount was unbelievable and it will be nice to be able to thank people in person.

“Secondly I’ve been watching so much speedway on TV and online – but nothing compares to watching it live in person.

“It should be a cracking meeting against Belle Vue because they’ve got some good riders.

“But I’m sure the Birmingham boys have got enough to make sure they get another win on the board.”

Belle Vue include former Brummies title winners Tom Perry and Jack Smith in their line-up.

A full fixture preview will be issued on Tuesday.
