BIRMINGHAM host Eastbourne in a mouthwatering National League clash at Perry Barr tonight (Wednesday, 7.30) – and will reveal a new signing exclusively in front of home fans.

The Edwards Plumbing Brummies will be without teenage star Jack Parkinson-Blackburn for the foreseeable future with a shoulder injury.

But club bosses have moved to secure the signature of another rider with the length of Parkinson-Blackburn’s absence unknown.

Team boss Laurence Rogers said: “We had to do something because JPB’s injury looks like it could keep him out for longer than we expected.

“So we spoke to a couple of riders, we made our decision and our new declaration has now been approved by the BSPA (British Speedway Promoters’ Association).

“The rider we’ve signed will keep us as a solid outfit and it’s one we think will go down really well with supporters as he’s very easy to take to both on and off track.

“But all will be revealed at the track tonight as we want our loyal supporters to hear who it is before anyone else.”

In-form reserve Leon Flint will be available for autographs and pictures between 6.30 and 6.50 in the lower main grandstand.

Admission is £13 adults, £12 concessions, £3 juniors (12-16) while kids 11 and under go FREE.
