BIRMINGHAM get their Travel Plus National League campaign up and running on Wednesday when Isle of Wight are the visitors to Perry Barr (7.30).

The fixture will see the return of home favourite Jack Parkinson-Blackburn who has re-signed for the Edwards Plumbing Brummies in place of injured skipper Mitchell Davey.

It promises to be a big night in the second city as Birmingham look to maintain their 100 per cent record.

They’ve built up plenty of momentum during their National Trophy and Knockout Cup wins and enjoyed another solid team performance in last Wednesday’s victory over Stoke.

That occasion saw Danyon Hume score his first full maximum in just over a year-and-a-half after a troubled spell with injury.

And now he’s targeting another big display against the team he secured his first ever unbeaten night against.

“It was good to get another max under my belt and after the injuries I’ve had it was a big moment going forward I think,” Hume said.

“I’m hoping that was just the start of what I want to be a big year for me and it was definitely the big confidence boost I needed.

“The team have been doing brilliantly but we know we need to carry that on now our league fixtures are about to start.

“The Isle of Wight have got some good riders with the likes of Ben Morley and Ben Hopwood and we’ll have some good battles with them I’m sure.”

Birmingham Ductair Electrics Bulls also ride their first Midland Development League fixture against Peterborough following the main event.

Admission is £13 adults, £12 concessions, £3 juniors (12-16) while kids 11 and under go FREE.
