“WIN IT FOR MITCH” - that’s the order of the day when Birmingham host Stoke in the National Trophy at Perry Barr on Wednesday (7.30).

The Edwards Plumbing Brummies will be without their influential skipper for the visit of the Potters, with rider replacement operating at No.3.

But the Birmingham riders, who are unbeaten in four team fixtures so far, are fired up for Wednesday’s clash.

And reserve Leon Flint says Davey’s absence is simply an extra motivational tool as they aim to make it two out of two in the competition.

"We want to win every match now for Mitch it’s as simple as that,” Flint said.

“Okay we want to win every meeting anyway, but this can be used to spur the team on even more.

“It did hit us quite hard at first last Wednesday, but when we got our minds back to racing, we dug deep well and managed to come away with a small win.

“There’s no reason why we can’t do that again and we’re determined to do so because we’ve got high standards at Birmingham."

Arran Butcher has recovered from an elbow injury to re-take his place at reserve while two-time title winner Tom Perry lines-up against the Brummies as he guests at No.1 for stoke.

Bucket collections for Mitchell Davey will take place throughout the night on Wednesday and Milton Keynes take on Carmarthen in the Midland Development League following the main event.
