BIRMINGHAM captain Mitchell Davey remains in hospital after his crash during Wednesday’s meeting with Mildenhall with some of his injuries now known.

Early tests and scans at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital have shown he has suffered a punctured lung, several chipped vertebrae, a broken shoulder blade and 12 broken ribs.

He is currently conscious and in a stable condition but is currently awaiting further tests on the severity of his punctured lung with the hope that no surgery will be required.

Mitchell and his family would like to thank Jason Jefferies-Lloyd and his medical team at Birmingham Speedway as well as the ambulance staff for their response and help immediately after the crash and to everyone for their messages of support at such a difficult time.
