BIRMINGHAM team manager Laurence Rogers is anticipating a classic when they host Mildenhall at Perry Barr in the Knockout Cup on Wednesday (7.30).

The Edwards Plumbing Brummies have started the season in fine form having won all three of their team fixtures.

But Wednesday’s visitors from Suffolk also have an identical record including huge 69-21 and 59-31 victories at Plymouth and the Isle of Wight respectively last week.

Rogers says his side are relishing the challenge though and is keen to see them maintain their unbeaten run.

“When you look at the two team line-ups, this has got the makings of a real classic speedway meeting,” Rogers said.

“We’ve both got big-hitting points scorers for a top three and youngsters further down the team who are improving all the time.

“We’re two of the most fancied teams for success this season and that in itself tells you everything you need to know about how hot the action will be on Wednesday.

“It really is one not to be missed, especially if you’ve never been to speedway before!”

With Arran Butcher still struggling with an elbow injury, Brummies have drafted in unattached rider Jamie Sealey at reserve.

Mildenhall include teenage sensations Jordan Jenkins and Drew Kemp as well as former Cradley man Danny Ayres.

Admission is £13 adults, £12 concessions and students, £3 juniors (12-16), while kids 11 and under go FREE.

BIRMINGHAM: Tom Bacon, Layne Cupitt, Mitchell Davey, Callum Walker, Danyon Hume, Jamie Sealey, Leon Flint.

MILDENHALL: Josh Bailey, Sam Bebee, Jordan Jenkins, Ryan Kinsley, Danny Ayres, Matt Marson, Drew Kemp.
