A new era for Birmingham Speedway is just days away - and teenage ace Leon Flint can't wait to get stuck into the action.

The 15-year-old will make his third tier debut when Birmingham host Coventry at Perry Barr on Wednesday (7.30) - the first fixture under the Peter and David Mason regime.

It promises to be a special night in the second city and Flint, the British 250cc Youth Champion, is excited to be a part of it.

"I know it’s only a challenge to everybody else, but to me it’s much bigger than that because it’s my first ever big team meeting so to speak," Flint said.

“There’s a lot of people who won’t know much about me and there’ll be others who’ve seen what I’ve achieved over the past couple of years.

“All of that has been building up to this moment and even though it will be my first proper meeting, I want to lay down my marker.

"I want to make a good first impression at Birmingham and hopefully I just ride how I know I can and the points will come with it."

Club bosses are keen for supporters to spread the word - particularly with special admission offers in place.

All under-16s will be admitted free of charge while Adult and Concession tickets are just £10.

There will be pre-meeting and interval entertainment and a series of demonstration races also.
