BIRMINGHAM Speedway are calling on fans for their help ahead of the forthcoming season.

While plenty of work continues to be done behind the scenes, there are also a few areas around the speedway part of Perry Barr Stadium which require certain improvements.

Co-promoter David Mason said: “We’ve got some absolutely fantastic facilities at Perry Barr – but we just want to brighten a few of them up a bit more to give a bit of a fresh feel.

“We know how much the Brummies fans love their club and we thought we’d try and get a few willing volunteers together to help us behind the scenes.

“We want to paint a few things that belong to us around the stadium, we want to get rid of the weeds around the pits area and trim the hedges back – we just want to make it even more appealing than it already is.

“We’d be looking at getting together with supporters mid-to-late February and it would be a great way of getting a few of us together for some pre-season camaraderie.

"We'll have a chat about the year ahead and a good laugh I'm sure and we'll make sure there's some refreshments available for people who come along and lend us a helping hand too.

“If anyone is willing to come and help us out with a few odd jobs or if they can help with any tools or supplies, then we really would appreciate it immensely.”
