NEW Birmingham owners David and Peter Mason will have to wait a little longer to officially receive their promoters' licences.

The pair were scheduled to sit in front of the British Speedway Promoters' Association Management Committee at their headquarters on Wednesday, but the meeting was postponed at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances which saw the Masons unable to attend.

A new date will be set before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, David Mason admits his excitement continues to grow behind the scenes ahead of his brand new venture.

He said: "It's been a bit of a manic week to be honest but me and my dad have been outlaying our plans for next season and we've already started doing a lot of work towards it.

"There's so much we've got in mind and we can't wait to get out there and get it all sorted.

"I have to give Graham (Drury - outgoing team boss) a lot of credit though; he's been on speed dial so much and he's been amazing giving us pointers in these early stages.

"As soon as we hear anything else or have any updates or news for the fans, we will get it out there to them at the first available opportunity."
