BIRMINGHAM star Liam Carr has called on them to pick up where they left off as they host top of the table Belle Vue at Perry Barr on Wednesday (7.30).

Carr led the Surestop Brummies to six Travel Plus National League points in the space of two days after an away win at Buxton on Sunday and a hard-fought draw against Cradley on Monday.

The results have strengthened Graham Drury’s place in the all-important top four and moved them level on points with second placed Eastbourne.

But Carr knows they need to keep their points tally ticking over with three more points in a tough clash with the Colts back on home shale.

"It was a good couple of days for both the team and myself, so hopefully we can take that form into the Belle Vue meeting on Wednesday now,” Carr said.

“We'll need to be at our best, but there were a couple of lads struggling on Monday, so I think we should be able to find a bit extra.

“We all know Layne (Cupitt) and Taylor (Hampshire) are much better riders when we get to Birmingham, and if the rest of us do what we did on Monday then there's no reason we won't come away with three points.”

Belle Vue are without star man Dan Bewley, who is travelling to Latvia for the European Under 21 Final.

Matt Williamson steps in as a guest to lead the Colts alongside former Birmingham favourite Jack Smith.

The Brummies are unchanged from Monday’s meeting at Cradley, with rider replacement covering for David Mason and Alex Spooner guesting at reserve.

BIRMINGHAM: Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, David Mason R/R, Layne Cupitt, Tom Bacon, Liam Carr, Alex Spooner, Taylor Hampshire.
BELLE VUE: Matt Williamson, Kyle Bickley, Rob Shuttleworth, Lee Payne R/R, Jack Smith, Andy Mellish, Luke Woodhull.
