BIRMINGHAM skipper Jack Parkinson-Blackburn is hoping he can inspire his side to more league points when they visit Eastbourne on Saturday (7.30).

The 16-year-old dropped just two points from seven rides during a magnificent 19-point haul at Arlington last season.

And with the race for the play-off places hotting up, the Surestop Brummies captain says his team should be targeting at least one league point – despite the Eagles comfortably winning all five of their home league meetings so far.

Said Parkinson-Blackburn: “Eastbourne are a good team but we’ve just got to focus on ourselves really.

“They have got a good home track advantage but we’ve got a team full of good riders and we’ve got nothing to lose.

“We’re all going to go there and give it our best and hopefully that’s enough to get some more league points.

“I’m loving being captain of this team and hopefully I can lead by example and help the boys get among the points.”

With Kyle Roberts still sidelined, Macauley Leek has once again been drafted in as guest reserve.

EASTBOURNE: Jake Knight, Charley Powell R/R, Mark Baseby, Tom Brennan, Georgie Wood, Charlie Saunders, Matt Bates
